It was a marvelous first day of autumn. The leaves have started to turn in some places and the air is getting cooler. This is my favorite season and I’m welcoming it with wide-open arms, and a small table at the foot of my bed adorned with a few first mementos of a season sure to be beautiful and all too short.
On the drive to rehearsal tonight, I saw a thunderhead looming over the practice fields. It was incredible; the thick clouds swelled and stretched over the purple sky, illuminated from within by the lightning in its belly. I’m not normally a fan of violent weather, but this was definitely awe inspiring. And besides, my sad excuse for an herb garden needs the water.
